Marius was born with the guitar in his hand as he is continuing the tradition established by his father, lead guitar and vocal of Celelalte Cuvinte, one of Romania’s most important rock bands.

Except the family heritage, Marius is mostly self taught. He studied at least 4 hours a day since he was 9 years old. That adds up to 25000 hours in the last 18 years. We counted :)

Marius joined his first band when he was 13 and since he spent most of his life touring,
recording and playing guitar as a professional musician. He played as a session guitarist for many Romanian rock and pop acts as he is one of Romania’s most sought after musicians.

At the beginning Marius started as a rock guitarist, but he was soon captured by jazz music and he turned into a complex fusion guitarist. He won or ended up as a finalist in many guitar and jazz contests all over the world and became one of the most recognized new talents of the guitar world.

In 2009 Marius put together the M Theory project by gathering some of the best musicians he ever worked with. The 2010 “First Step” album is their debut recorded material.

THE M THEORY

The “M Theory” project was created by Marius while recording his first solo album.

While there were more than 10 artists recording for the “First Step” album, a stable core of the project was soon established:

ALEX RACOVITA on keys

MIHAI ARDELEAN on keys & synth

DAN SAGHIN on bass

The mix of Alex’s jazzy melodic lines and harmonies, Mihai’s progressive licks, Marcel’s complex beats and Dan’s groovy bass lines combined with Marius’ explosive guitar playing creates an innovative musical experience that is sure to capture the listener.
